House Democrats have released a new tranche of photographs from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, reigniting scrutiny of the powerful figures who associated with him in the years before his death.

The 19 images, published by Democratic members of the House oversight committee on Friday, include photographs of Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Steve Bannon and Britain’s disgraced former royal Prince Andrew. Committee members described the images as “disturbing” and said they raise serious questions about Epstein’s access to elite political and business circles.

The photographs form a small portion of almost 100,000 images handed to the committee as part of its investigation into Epstein’s network. Epstein died in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.

🧾 Why the images were released

According to Robert Garcia, the California Democrat and ranking member of the House oversight committee, the decision to publish the photographs was driven by a need for transparency rather than to make specific allegations.

“These disturbing photos raise even more questions about Epstein and his relationships with some of the most powerful men in the world,” Garcia said. “It is time to end this White House cover-up and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends.”

The images were released without captions or contextual explanations. Committee Democrats said this was deliberate, arguing the public should see the material while further investigation continues.

🏛 Trump, Clinton and Bannon appear in multiple images

Donald Trump appears in three of the photographs released. In one image, he is pictured with six women, some wearing Hawaiian-style dresses, with their faces obscured. Another shows Trump alongside Epstein listening to a blond-haired woman, while a third appears to have been taken aboard an aircraft, with Trump seated next to another unidentified woman.

Trump maintained a social relationship with Epstein for years and once described him as “a terrific guy.” He has since claimed the friendship ended long before Epstein’s arrest and insists he expelled Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club. Trump has repeatedly dismissed investigations into Epstein’s associates as politically motivated.

Three images feature Steve Bannon, Trump’s former political adviser, including two with Epstein and one showing Bannon socialising with film director Woody Allen. Neither Bannon nor Allen has commented publicly on the latest release.

One photograph shows Bill Clinton standing alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking. The image appears to be signed by Clinton. The former president has acknowledged travel connected to Epstein’s foundation but denies any knowledge of criminal activity.

Among the most notable British figures included is Prince Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles following his association with Epstein. One photograph shows him standing beside Microsoft founder Bill Gates in an unidentified business setting.

Andrew has consistently denied wrongdoing but stepped back from public duties after a civil settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who alleged she was trafficked by Epstein. Gates has previously acknowledged meeting Epstein but said he regrets the association.

Other figures appearing in the images include Richard Branson, former US treasury secretary Larry Summers, and Epstein’s former lawyer Alan Dershowitz. All have denied involvement in criminal conduct.

📂 What happens next in the Epstein investigation

The release comes weeks after Congress passed legislation requiring the US government to publish all files related to Epstein. The justice department has until 19 December to comply, with hundreds of thousands of documents expected to be made public.

A federal judge has also ruled that investigative material from the sex-trafficking case against Maxwell can be released. Democratic committee members said more images from the Epstein estate would be published in the coming days and weeks.

“This latest production contains over 95,000 photos,” the committee said in a statement. “Committee Democrats are committed to protecting the identities of survivors while ensuring the truth comes out.”

The White House declined to comment on the photographs. Representatives for several individuals featured in the images did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

⚖️ Epstein’s legacy and unanswered questions

Epstein’s Caribbean island, Little Saint James — known locally as “paedophile island” — remains central to the scandal. In 2022, his estate reached a $100 million settlement with the US Virgin Islands after allegations that dozens of women and children were trafficked, abused and held captive.

Despite years of investigations, many survivors and campaigners argue that accountability for those who enabled Epstein has yet to be delivered. The newly released images are likely to intensify pressure on US authorities as the next wave of documents approaches publication.
