After spending much of 2025 dominating national polling, Reform UK’s surge looks to be faltering as several major pollsters report significant declines in voter support.
The party, which entered Parliament for the first time in 2024, now faces a winter downturn after months of controversy, resignations and damaging headlines.
📉 Local government chaos takes its toll
Reform has struggled to demonstrate basic governing competence in local authorities where it took control earlier this year.
Dozens of councillors have quit across the country since May’s local elections, and the party’s much-touted “DOGE” anti-waste unit has reportedly collapsed in several councils.
In Kent, where Reform seized control of one of England’s largest local authorities, resignations and internal disorder have weakened their majority and fuelled criticism that the party is “not ready to govern.”
🔥 Scandals surrounding Farage intensify
Nigel Farage’s past has returned to haunt him, with renewed scrutiny on:
- His relationship with Nathan Gill – the former Reform figure now convicted of taking Russian bribes
- Allegations from Farage’s school days resurfacing
- Continued pressure over his links to controversial figures
These stories have dominated headlines in recent weeks and appear to be cutting through with voters.
📊 Multiple polls show a clear decline
Several leading polling companies released fresh data in the past week – and all point in the same direction:
Survation
- Reform down 5 points
- Their lead over Labour shrinking from 12 points to 7

BMG Research
- Reform’s once-dominant 15-point lead nearly halved
- Labour and Conservatives closing the gap
- The Green Party continues to rise

YouGov
- Reform’s support slipping more modestly
- Lead over Labour reduced to just 6 points
- Four rival parties now clustered between 15–19%

Across the board, the week’s polling paints a picture of a party losing altitude – and fast.
