Reform UK’s deputy leader, Richard Tice, has publicly dismissed a growing set of allegations accusing Nigel Farage of antisemitic and racist remarks during his teenage years, calling the claims “made-up twaddle”.

🟦 🎥 Multiple witnesses accuse Farage of antisemitic remarks

More than two dozen former Dulwich College pupils have spoken to The Guardian, alleging Farage made racist and antisemitic comments between the ages of 13 and 18.

Among them is Peter Ettedgui, a Bafta- and Emmy-winning Jewish film director, who claims Farage repeatedly told him:

  • “Hitler was right”
  • “Gas them”, sometimes hissing to mimic gas chambers

Eight former classmates corroborated his account.

Asked on BBC Radio 4 whether such a comment would be direct racial abuse, Tice replied:

“Yes I do… I can’t believe anybody would have said that.”
“This is made-up twaddle by people who don’t want Nigel to be prime minister.”

When asked if he was calling Ettedgui a liar, he answered:

“Yes.”

Tice insisted the allegations were politically motivated, pointing to Reform’s by-election gains.

🟨 📝 Farage changes his explanation several times

Farage’s own position has shifted:

  • Legal letters (before publication): categorically denied everything
  • BBC interview last week: “It’s 49 years ago… I can’t remember everything… I never engaged in direct unpleasant abuse.”
  • New statement: “I did not say the things published in the Guardian aged 13.”

Ettedgui responded that Farage’s denials are “more dishonesty”, saying he remembers the incidents “vividly”.

“It took serious courage for the victims to come forward.”
